Ansco DZ-400 (1997)

KOCOM, a korean manufacturer, created and designed the Kocom KDC-10, which was the basic OEM model. It was first showcased at Comdex Fall '97. KOCOM also made the QV-8000SX and the QV-2000ux for Casio and licensed this model to Ansco. Ansco marketed it in the US as the DZ-400. Ansco, rather known for photographic film and 35mm cameras, probably wanted to know if they could succeed in the digital camera market. According to some sources they launched four models, this one here by Kocom, one by Focus Products and two made by Mustek. All models failed to sell and Ansco abandoned all digital camera plans.

Sidenote: there is a fifth model out there by Ansco, called the DC181B web camera but I am uncertain how far the original Ansco camera company is involved in this one, so I rule this one out.
